From South and Taupo: We are a short five minute drive from Taupo. Continue north up State Highway 1 from Taupo, after the Wairakei International Golf Course on your left we are the next right turn: Karetoto Road. At the next T intersection, we are the red building directly in front of you. From Rotorua: Depart Rotorua for the 45 minute journey going south on State Highway 5. State Highway 1 will join the State Highway on the right. You will then go over a small bridge over the geothermal power station pipes. Pass Wairakei Resort, and take a gentle left hand corner up a hill. At the top of the hill, take the left turn (Karetoto Road). At the next T intersection, we are the red building in front of you.From Auckland: From Auckland go south on State Highway 1, for the approx 3 hour journey, you will join the State Highway 5 at a major T juction at this point you need to turn right. You will go over a small bridge over the geothermal power station pipes. Pass Wairakei Resort, and take a gentle left hand corner up a hill. At the top of the hill, take the left turn (Karetoto Road). At the next T intersection, we are the red building in front of you.
Alternatively: catch the Hotbus which departs from Taupo's Tourist Information Centre in the heart of town on the hour, and arrives at the Volcanic Activity Centre in approximately 15 mins.
